Why Recycled Paper?

Trees take dozens (sometimes hundreds) of years to mature, and are home to a myriad of species. Cutting down trees for paper has devastating effects on ecosystems and individual animals. Post-consumer recycled paper enables us to continue using paper, without necessarily causing the deaths of innocent animals. Other options, such as tree-free paper using renewable crops like hemp, are very good too, but are still more costly than recycled paper. While recycled paper is still more expensive than virgin non-recycled paper, recycling technologies have developed to the point where it is generally affordable for everyone... and the extra financial costs are more than made up for in good karma!
