This vegan product is manufactured in the United States by Evolution Diet Pet Food Corporation. Evolution was founded by Eric Weisman in 1989, and is currently run by Eric and his wife Lynn. Both Eric and Lynn are long-time animal rights activists and vegans. They live with approximately 30 rescued cats, dogs, and ferrets in their St. Paul, Minnesota home. All of their cats, dogs, and ferrets are vegan, and the animals that eat Evolution vegan food across North America number in the tens of thousands.

Feeding Instructions:

The daily feeding amount will vary according to the age, breed, activity level, and environment of your cat. As a general rule, you should feed him or her approximately half of a 13 ounce can per day for every 6 to 10 pounds of body weight. You can also mix this moist vegan cat food with vegan cat kibble (2 parts moist to 1 part kibble).

Note of Caution:
When you receive this product, you will find the following text on the Evolution label: "FOR THE FIRST WEEK, ADD ONE OR TWO TABLESPOONS OF CRUSHED TUNO OR OIL-PACKED TUNA AND GRADUALLY REDUCE THAT AMOUNT TO ZERO." While we agree that you should consider purchasing tuna-friendly Tuno (fake tuna)—if you can find it at your local health food store—as a way of easing your companion(s) onto this new food if they don't take to it immediately, but we do not endorse purchasing real human-grade tuna for that purpose.

Nutritional Adequacy:

Evolution Vegan Gourmet Entree Cat Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) cat food nutrient profiles for all life stages. In other words, this food is 100% nutritionally complete for your cat, whether a kitten or a senior.

Downbound was recommended to me by Evolution Diet (the company that makes this vegan cat food). I ordered several items and had excellent service, and the products are wonderful. I do not hesitate to use Downbound for any of my pet supplies and other products.

i've only ordered wet food a few times, its more for a treat for my little ones. but the few times they have had they came burning around the corner as soon as they the tin opened so it was a good sign. then they munched away so i'd say they like it =)

evolution wet cat food April 14, 2007

My cat loved this food right away. She has always preferred wet food over dry food, so I did not need to introduce her gradually. I will add this to her regular food rotation.

Hard to tell April 14, 2007
Reviewer: Jason Meade from Hanover, MA
My cat rarely eats wet food, but I thought I would just try a can of this since I was odering the dry food anyway.

I actually didn't think the cat would eat it, but to my surprise it actually did. The cat tends to eat one small size can of wet food and then the next time you try to give it the same kind, all of a sudden it doesn't want it anymore.

But it went through almost this whole big can in the course of a few days. I take that to mean it was pretty good.

One strange issue with the shipping. You can follow the shipping online. Although both the wet and dry food are apparently made in the USA and in sealed containers, according to the tracking webpage for the shipping, they were held up at customs for a day for some kind of agricultural inspection or something.

Why?

I don't know. Maybe someone else knows.
