AMI's CEO, Emanuele Boccardo, and most of AMI's employees are vegetarian or vegan. AMI's founder, Michele Ghezzo, has been a vegetarian since 1983. He is primarily responsible for AMI's product research. AMI GMO-Free Vegan Cat Food Kibble is the result of over 15 years of university-based nutritional research, sponsored by Michele Ghezzo. His research into finding alternatives to animal-based pet food ingredients began in 1985 at the University of Bologna, and continued in the 1990s at the University of Padova.
